Think tank Nuffield Trust’s In the Balance examines new, emerging and existing roles in the NHS – and the balance between them. The report outlines lessons around reshaping the skills mix in the workforce.

As a text-heavy report, it’s likely to be dipped into rather than read cover to cover. So, the challenge here was to focus on clarity and consistency to make the report engaging and readable. Colourful, functional charts and infographics (18 of them) break up the text, helping readers visualise the findings. And to help readers navigate to the endnotes, for example, 80+ linked reference numbers in the main text stand out in bold.
